Perm to become the venue for finals of Russian National Students Spring festival
On May 14-19, 2019 Perm will host the finals of XXVII All-Russia festival “Russian Students Spring” welcoming about 3,000 most talented students from 80 Russian regions.
The festival events will cover the whole city. The opening ceremony of the finals will take place on May14, 2019 in the “Molot” Sports Palace. During the following three days the participants will contest in 7 nominations: «Music», «Dance», «Theatre», «Original genre», «Journalism», «Video» and «Regional programme», the competitions being held in the best city locations: the Big Hall of Perm Regional Philharmonics, “Theatre-Theatre” and the Young Spectators Theatre, the Youth Palace, the “Gubernia” Local Lore Center and Regional Library named after M.Gorky.
The gala on May 18 will again bring together all participants at the “Molot” Sports Center for a closing event of the festival.
Perm is preparing for the start of Russian Students Spring - the festival locations will be extended to include the outdoor site in front of the “Theatre-Theatre”, with interactive and entertainment stands and food court. At each of the location there will appear an art object – 2.5 meter figure representing each topic of the festival.
Finals of the Russian Students Spring will no doubt become an outstanding event for the volunteering movement in the Perm Region, as it will use the biggest number of volunteers. The organizing committee short-listed 370 volunteers out of almost 1,500 applicants; these will help the participants and guests of the Spring to make their stay in the city – for many their first visit – the most comfortable. The volunteers will meet the delegates at the airport and the rail station, help with transfers, rehearsals, props and scenery, catering, excursions and any other issues.
The festival jury includes many Russian actors, choreographers, directors, producers, TV presenters — total 37 experts. These are the celebrities as well as the “new names” in the show business, like choreographer Egor Druzhinin, singer Polina and bit boxer Vahtang.
A distinctive feature of this year project is that the festival is increasing its “presence” on-line: events at each location of the Russian Students Spring will be accessible on-line through the festivals’ page in social media (VKontakte).
It is symbolic that Perm hosts the finals of the Russian Students Spring in 2019 as the region marks 60-year anniversary of the Students Spring festival. The first Students Spring was held in Perm as far back as 1959 at Perm State University.
“Russian Students Spring” is the largest creative project of the student youth in the country, being a support programme of the Russian Youth Union. It started in 1992 and involves over 80 regional, 8 district, 10 national and 2 international regular events. The annual number of the programme participants amounts to nearly 1.5 million students, representing over 1100 universities and colleges of the country. The cities twinned with Perm have sent their video greetings to the festival participants.
